| | Job Description | As a lead engineer you will help design, develop, and implement the code for industry-leading products.
.NET from day one, client is always finding new ways to utilize the latest and greatest functionality in the framework: WPF 4, the Dynamic Language Runtime (DLR), the Parallel Extensions, Silverlight 4, WCF, Linq, MEF and Windows Azure, just to name a few. In addition, client integrates with Visual Studio, Microsoft Word, BizTalk Server and Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) via add-ins, adapters and activities, respectively.
You wont be writing Web Forms

Great coding skills
Excellent command of written and spoken English
Permanent legal right to work in the US
Experience working with, or an interest in Agile Methodologies, such as Scrum
Great planning, design, coding and debugging skills, passion for problems solving and a desire to excel
The willingness to speak up when something doesnt look right or can be done better
Several years of experience developing software on .NET
Great OO skills, including strong design patterns knowledge
Produce high-quality code as well as be a key contributor through all the phases of a product ship cycle
Knowledge of software best practices, like test driven development and continuous integration
This position is in beautiful downtown Chicago. No full-time telecommuters.
Nice to have:
Experience with at least one complete ship cycle for a commercial product
Experience developing SDKs
We are looking to fill two positions, one data-focused and the other UI-heavy:
Data-focused
Must have experience designing databases for Microsoft SQL Server
Must have a thorough understanding of relational database design fundamentals and best practices
Should have experience designing or optimizing n-tier or service-based applications that split work between more than one process (for example: determining which logic should be on the client, on the server or in the database)
Oracle experience a plus
UI-heavy
Must have experience with WPF (out-of-browser only)
Must have a user-focused mindset
Should have experience with Model-View-ViewModel (or be familiar with the concept)
Should have experience with multi-threaded UI best practices
Should have experience with WinForms (for maintenance/upgrade purposes)
Visual Studio/Microsoft Office add-in experience a plus
Silverlight experience a plus
